It must be Christmas time!

I love Christmas time at my house. Because during the Christmas season, I get my own 'secret spot'. It's not really 'secret' but it is MY spot. Because when we put up our christmas tree, we set it up in the corner. So, on the far side there is a small corner in-between the branches and it's mine! Because I'm really the only one who can crawl back there without knocking down the tree.
So this year, if my family can't find me, all they need to do is look behind the tree! (Thank goodness we have our artificial tree up! Last year we had a real tree and I I couldn't sit back there!)

P.S. Maybe I post pictures later! :)

Howdy All

I feel like I've been neglecting my blog... which i have. My time is spent on my facebook, so please understand. (In a house with one computer to 8 people... you don't spend too much time on it! :)

Anyway, topic: Rain
Aiya! I like the rain... at least, sometimes that is. On Guam, around this time of year, we don't get snow, we get rain and mud. So, you know, it isn't the same. How many people enjoy riding their selds through mud??

Anyway. I guess I should be, and I am greatful that we haven't had any typhoons. Though my dad keeps hoping for one! I'm just praying that we don't get another Christmas typhoon!! :(

........

I'm having a mental/writers block. I can't think of anything to write that would intrest anyone besides me...... fe fi fo fum
Well, I'll just ask for prayer as my mom and several other people I know (of) are supposed to be getting back on Guam tonight/tomorrow morning. And there is a typhoon in the area. (For those who live on Guam, and know exactly what I'm talking about. Please keep praying for the storm to move north.) My dad (who is a weather man) is getting worried about it.
But, I know God is in control, and He will do as He wills.
PRAY

Thoughts.

Father, why? Why do you give me all these trials?
In my head, I know it's to help me grow. But in my heart, I ask questions.
Why must I grow?
Must I grow THIS way?
Is the hurt worth it?
Will I stand it?

But then, after my Father brings me though the trial, my response is:
Thank you.
Thank you for growing me.
Thank you for giving me the strength to stand though this.
Thank you for changing me thorough this!
Thank you!

Wrong Numbers

In my house I get many wrong numbers. When we first moved into our house our extra line (fax line) was one digit different than the mayors office. So almost every day we'd get a wrong number. :(
So, after a few weeks , we changed our phone number, to try to stop the wrong numbers. But guess what? our new number is only like to digits different then a hotel. We get these calls "Room 342 please."
Ai ya! One of these days, I'm gonna have fun with the people who call and have fun with them. You know, pretend to ring the room, and be the person they're calling!! JK, I probably wouldn't do it, it's just fun to think about doing.
The point of this is? idk. But maybe someday, I'll start talking with a 'wrong number' and make a friend. Or maybe I'll witness to a 'wrong number.'
But don't take the things in life that annoy you and just get mad it it. Have a good attitude and think about how the other person is feeling. They're the ones who are feeling the most uncomfortable.
But, you never know…….. Just take the chance. Be nice to the 'wrong number' and maybe you could be the bright spot in someone's day.

Random Post :)

Because I'm tired (I was up from 1-2 to see my mom off at the airport. She's in PA for 8 days), and don't really know what to write. I'll be very random and list the things that I like in guys who are my friends.
1. Guys who TALK. I don't like the guys that you sit with for long periods of time and they say less the 5 words. I like to talk, but not that much. When the guy responds, or gives input, it keeps the conversation going.
2. Guys who tease nicely. Meaning, I don't like the guys who make jokes that are stupid. Or just plain mean. If it's just in fun, and we're having a good time, then I like it.
3. Guys that treat little kids with respect. When a guy will just give the kid even a minute and listen, it goes a long way with 'the older kids' (LOL, hint hint to any guys!)
4. Guys that are good looking. (Note: not required, many of my guy friends aren't exactly 'Prince Charming'. In fact, it's usually the non-prince charming's that are nice! Because the cute ones usually know they are cute and are jerks! But, there are exceptions!! :)
I know, this post is random. But it's my blog!! :p
Thanks for reading!

My Favorite Psalm: Psalm 139

1 ¶ O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 ¶ Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 ¶ How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

The government Can

This is a new song by Tim Hawkins. It's so true!
You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO2eh6f5Go0

Here are the Lyrics:
Who can take your money? With a twinkle in their eye?
Take it all away and give it to some other guy.
The government, The government can.
Who can tax the sunrise? Who can tax the trees?
Let you run a business and collect up all the fees?
The government, oh, the government can.

And the government can cause they mix it up with lies
and make it all taste good.
The government take everything we make,
to pay for all of their solutions.
Health Care, Climate change, Pollution,
(Throw away the constitution!)

And who can give a bailout? Tell us to behave,
Make the founding fathers roll over in their graves?
The government, the government can.
And the government can cause they mix it up with lies
and make it all taste good.
The government take everything we make.
They're power hungry and malicious.
Their economics are fictitious,
soon well have to eat our dishes!

Who can be a failure? In so many ways?
Instead of getting fired,
HEY we'll give ourselves a raise.
The government, oh the government can.

And the government can cause they mix it up wtih lies
and make it all taste good.
And your Uncle Sam can cause he mixes with lies
and makes it all taste good
And I feel so good cause the government says I should!

Power's out!!

With the weather lately we've been having several power outages!
The first one was last sat, and it was out for about 2 hours, (came on just in time to keep us from going out to eat!! :). Then that night I went babysitting, and the power was out when we got there (adventure time!). But thankfully, just as the last window was about to be opened, the power came back!! Yay
Then last night about 10 ish. The power went out. I, being the crazy person I am, rather enjoyed. I read "Silas Marner" by candle light. Watched a movie by candle light (on my bro's computer) and tried to sleep on the cold floor. But a sibling kept saying they could hear me breathing!! NOT!!
So, I got to bed around one and had a grand total of 5 hours of sleep!! (stupid alarm clock! silly me for setting it!!) I'm going to take my tired body and get caffeine, so I can get through school today!!
I wish the power would go out during the day! Not the night!!
But one night is a lot better then one and a half months!!!

Thoughts

I want to write, I just don't know what to write about!
Ok, what I'm learning this year.
My summer was good. I got a chance to work at a summer school program. It was a lot of fun. Many of my friends worked there. But just because we're friends doesn't mean we always get alongs.
Some lessons I learned from 'those times'
1. Sometimes, even if it hurts, it's better to hear the truth and accept it
2. People CAN change!
3. Don't give up on others, even if they did it to you!
4. Stay in the word! God never gives up on me, so I shouldn't give up on HIM
5. You can have fun through the trials! Even if you don't think you're having fun

I know, ya'll are now wondering 'what's the story behind all of these'? Well, I'm not going into all of that today! Maybe another day!
Just don't give up no matter how hard life may seem!!

(I realize, some of this isn't going to make sense to some of you! I just thought I should write it!! See ya'll later!)

Spirit Week!!

Ahh! Today was good! I was at spirit week! (It's what my school does every year. We have a guest speaker that speaks to the entire high school. And then games. No classes! For a week!)
Anyway, Will Galkin a well known christian evangelist is here this year! He's a really good preacher! And funny!
Today he spoke on why we should remember our creator (Ecc 12:1) Which was really good.
And then his second message was on The New Man (Eph 4:17-32) That one was really good and convicting!!

I met some kids I know by sight today, and I had a blast. But it's so HOT!! And we have to wear BLACK shirts!! Someday, I'm going to do something to who every designed the dark shirts we wear every year!!! :)

Well, today was a good day. I'm looking forward to tomorrow!! I just hope I don't get hurt! There are some rough games.

Ok, I realize, I'm started to go off topic. I'm going to take my hot (not HOT :) body and clean up!! Then supper!!! YUM!

BYE!!

Guam Time

On the island of Guam, everything is laid back.
The phrase: You're never late till it's over. Is definitely true here!
We even have a name for this lateness: Guam time :)
(You arrive late at the party: Sorry, I was running on guam time! Everyone else: OH…)

Of course, while you enjoy not having to rush to most things, it can be frustrating if you're from the states and you're used to being places on time or early! Like you show up for music practice and no one shows up for half an hour!

So, if you come visit me on Guam. If I don't find you at the airport for a good 10 minutes, I'm probably running on guam time!!

Gotta go now. I'm late!…. Wait! I'm on GUAM TIME!

HOT!

Guam is so HOT!
Today, after church, I rode home with my brother in our 'boonie car' (aka: A Junkie :) And it was SO HOT. If there were anything made out of plastic in there, it would've be 're-shaped'! :)
But the weather changes so quickly! One minute, it's so hot, one feels one would melt. The next, it' s raining!!!

But, I love it here! I love my hot, humid, wet, wonderful island of Guam!!

Babysitting

I love babysitting! But sometimes it can be stressful!
Tonight, instead of 5 kids, I only have 3. But it seems that these three are harder to handle then all 5 at the same time!!

I love kids! They are truly gifts from God!

To Digress: I feel like I used a lot of '!' in this post!!

I don't know the point of this post. But hey, I'm allowed to make no sense. It's my blog!!
I'm tired. Tired because I didn't sleep, and because of the rain!!

Gotta go!

Strange....

I was just thinking....
In relation to my last post, one strange thing about me, that makes my SIBLINGS look at me funny. Is that I enjoy eating my chocolate with corn chips!
It's yummy!!!

So, if you have corn chips, and chocolate ice cream. Go try it out. Comment and let me know if you liked it!!!

(Hmm... I want some now!!! Adios!!)

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

I don't know

Ok, I have totally no idea what I'm going to say..... ok! I have one now...

The chip who lost it's purpose.
I feel sorry for any chip that comes my way at the dinner table. Esp when we eat soup! :) Because I totally take away it's purpose in life. Instead of using it to scoop up what I eat, I use my spoon, scoop the food on the chip, then eat it!!
I know, I'm weird!!!

Last night, I got the 'she's strange' look at drama. I came with my water bottle covered in a (clean!) sock that I had decorated with permanent markers. My friend looked at me funny.!!! :)

Aww well, I like who I am. So, anyone else can think what they'd like!! I'll live!!!

Ciao!

The Room

My Mom got this in an e-mail forward. It's very convicting. It came as part of a story, but I looked it up and found it was wrong.
It was supposed to have been written by a 17 yr old that died soon after writing it.
Actually, it was written by Joshua Harris, and can be found in his book 'I Kissed Dating Good-bye"
Here it is!

"The Room..."

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read 'Girls I have liked.' I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.
A file named 'Friends' was next to one marked 'Friends I have betrayed.' The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird 'Books I Have Read,' 'Lies I Have Told,' 'Comfort I have Given,' 'Jokes I Have Laughed at .' Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: 'Things I've yelled at my brothers.' Others I couldn't laugh at: 'Things I Have Done in My Anger', 'Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents.' I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.
Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.
When I pulled out the file marked 'TV Shows I have watched', I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.
When I came to a file marked 'Lustful Thoughts,' I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.
I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me.. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!' In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards.. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.
Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.
And then I saw it.. The title bore 'People I Have Shared the Gospel With.' The handle was brighter than those around it, seemed newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.
And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.

He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands, and I began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me..

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. 'No!' I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was 'No, no,' as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back.. He smiled a sad smile and began to s ign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.
He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, 'It is finished.' I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.

Teen Attitudes

Teenagers in general are associated with having bad attitudes. And I suppose that to some extent that people our age do have a harder time having a good attitudes, mostly because we are rebellious.
I've had a major attitude problem the last couple of years and this summer, I came to a point where if my attitude didn't change I was in for a lot of trouble in the future!
I was depressed and mad. And some very good friends came along side of me and reminded me how I need to be joyful! It says in Proverbs 15:13 “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.” And Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”
I knew these verses, but I wasn’t caring. I knew my problem, but I didn’t want to change.
Finally, I realized that my attitude was starting to push others away from me. And that made me look inside and see why I was so angry and sad. And then I saw how I need to change.
I gave everything to God. I gave Him the hurt and the sadness and the anger. And, it hasn’t been easy, but God has been teaching me to have the joy I used to have when I was younger. (aka. before I became a teen!! :)
Now, why I have told all of this? 1st, because I have just starting to read a book about teens and how we should live and what we should do. It’s called “DO HARD THINGS” a great book, I recommend it to every teen who wants to know how to live a life for God.
2nd, I just realized how I’ve changed. I’m not near as angry. I’m happier. I’ve also learned how to have a better attitude about everything. Esp how I live at home! It’s hard to be homeschooled and live at home 24/7, but by my Father’s grace, I’m learning to be happier here.

I just want to throw all that out for anyone in the same boat!! I want to encourage those, that you can change. And you’ll be glad that you gave it to God, because He is the only one who can help you fix it!!

Also, for any of my readers who know me on a personal basis. I hope you will pray for me and encourage me as I’m still learning!!

See you next month!!

Sometimes......

Sometimes, I dislike being a girl. I remember when I was little, I wanted to be a boy. I thought they had more fun then girls did.
Now, sometimes, I dislike being a girl because of emotions. Ever since 7th grade.... I remember in 7th and 8th grade, disliking one guy and having to go to him to say 'I'm sorry'. Why? why so many different emotions, never knowing why I did this, felt that, thought this.
In the beginning of 10th grade, dealing with the emotions of knowing what another guy thought of me.
Wishing.... wishing to not have emotions. Thinking, maybe if I were a boy, I wouldn't have to deal with them!

But, I learned. I learned that my Father is enough. My heavenly Father can give me the strength I need to live each day and not give up. And knowing that He made me the way I am, and He will help to live the way He made me to live, helps me to live.

I LOVE GUAM

I love my island! I've lived here for 10+ years, so unlike my older siblings Guam is 'home' to me!
I grew up loving the fact that you could wear board shorts to almost any function on Guam and still fit in. I grew up hating shoes because 'who needed shoes if you could go barefoot'? And I almost quit a job when I had to start wearing shoes because I had done so much walking for work I almost destroyed my ankles. (Ouch!)
I grew up thinking that white people were weird and wishing my skin was darker!! The only good thing about having freckles would be that maybe I'd get enough to make me brown!

I love my island. I hope I never move away. When I go to college in a few years, I know I'll miss my island. I know, after 10+ years of 'the only thing I don't like about Guam is the fact there's no snow'. I'll be freezing in college and wish I were back in beautiful hot humid Guam!!

But the thing I love most about Guam are the people!! They show love all the time. And they care.

THAT is why I love Guam!!

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Ahh... so much for that! :)

Well, I didn't get the break in the weather I was hoping for!! Yesterday was drippy again!!!
Oh well, I suppose that's part of the fun living on an island. The rarely predictable weather.

School:
My life is so busy in terms of academics. :) I have to do all my homeschool here, and then I have music and drama at Harvest. I'm back and forth so much!! It's crazy. But I love drama. (Not that I'm a dramatic person... ok, maybe sometimes. :)

So anyway.... I guess cause I'm new at the whole blogging thing, I don't know what to write. Don't worry, soon I'll be more interesting!!! LOL

3. I changed the color on the whole thing!

Rain, Rain, stay away!

It's the 'wet' season on Guam. And we've had so much rain!! My dad who is a weather man has recorded some records for the amount of rain in one day!!
I enjoy listening to rain, but having to listen to rain (as well as thunder and lightning) everyday for a couple of weeks in a row does st'rain' the ears!
So, I'm thankful that we are having a break from the rain!

(Although, my dad says we may get a typhoon later! NO!)
